The Collection That Traveled The World

Oscar de la Renta took New York Fashion Week by storm on Wednesday by sharing his Spring 2010 collection that we may be dubbing as this year’s "global" collection. Each piece looked as if it came from a fashionistas closet that visited Africa, Asia, South America and many other global destinations with style and grace.

Elements like safari jackets, linen pants, white blouses, purple embroidery and more made us think that maybe Oscar has a little secret of his own...maybe he has a travel bug. Whatever the reason for this refreshing collection, we are inspired to travel and do it in style.

Fashion Night Out Revives Shopping for One Day

From London to New York, from Phoenix to Milan, Fashion's Night Out, last night, was a huge hit as thousands and thousands and thousands of fashionistas hit the streets and went shopping in order to try and boost the economy.

With the biggest recession in US history in 70 years, customers came out in droves to support the economy and get the shopping bug going again. And the stores definitely wooed customers, from free cocktails, live music, free food, hand massages, and giveaways, customers felt special and stayed around for hours at a time. Stores in other fashion centers, including in Britain, Italy, France, Greece, Russia, Brazil, India, Spain, China, Germany, Japan and Taiwan, joined in the shopping extravaganza.

Even Anna Wintour, who started the initiative, made some rare public appearances. Plus, Fashion's Night Out T-shirts flew off the shelves. Even those who didn't buy got to see the new fashions and put a few items on their wish lists.

Dsquared Honored At Canada's Walk of Fame Gala

Canada's Walk of Fame Gala is coming this weekend and celebrity presenters such as Nelly Furtado and Rachelle Lefevre have ensured this event will be one not to be missed.

The list of inductees are pretty impressive as well and include Sex and The City's Kim Cattrall, comedian Howie Mandel and rocker Tom Cochrane. However, our eyes are on the identical twin fashion designers Dean and Dan Caten and their line Dsquared. According to New York Magazine:

"Helmed by brothers Dean and Dan Caten, the Dsquared label combines outdoorsy details (fur-trimmed coats, plaid, chunky knits) with a glam-rock aesthetic (deconstructed corsets, biker jackets, hand-stitched denim). The attire, and the denim in particular, is a favorite among musicians like Justin Timberlake, Christina Aguilera, Rihanna, and Madonna, who asked the duo to create more than 150 pieces for her 2002 Drowned World Tour. The brothers opened their flagship store in Milan in 2007, complete with an exclusive Champagne bar, and subsequently launched locations in Capri, Kiev, Istanbul, and Hong Kong."

We wish the twins luck, we love their new collection and their take on fashion.
